Who are The Family Fund?

The Family Fund are a registered charity working across the whole of the UK. The charity supports families by providing grants that relate to the need of their disabled child or young person and in the year 2009/10 distributed £32.8 million to 55,000 families.

Their Requirements

The Family Fund needed an alternative to cash in order to award clothing grants to families with disabled children. Previously the organisation dealt with one single clothing retailer to fulfil their needs, however, this become impractical and not particularly cost effective.

A new, cheaper alternative option was needed providing more choice and flexibility for their customers. Additionally, the cards needed to be sent direct to the customer with prepaid funds added to the card.

Our Solution

The Family Fund now use flexecash cards with a choice of the clothing retailers available as oppose to one single clothing retailer. The new option now gives their customers the choice of a wide range of stores in a number of top brand high street retailers including River Island, Matalan, and Debenhams.

In addition to the choice of retailers, we provided The Family Fund with personalised plastic cards along with personalised card carriers. The cards were sent out via secure delivery to specific addresses they provided via our encrypted data transfer service.

Claire White, Operations Director for The Family Fund says, "This multi-retailer card can be loaded remotely with value, and can be spent in a number of retailers. The costs of running this card-based scheme were much lower than our previous arrangement.

Once the card is delivered, the recipient simply calls an automated telephone service to activate their card, then it's ready to use. Love2reward handle all the administration and load the funds"
