Educational College

Educational college increases recruitment levels and attendance rates with Incentive Scheme.

A college needed to increase student recruitment levels to ensure funding levels were carried over each year at the same level if not higher. They looked at various options to increase recruitment at the college and decided that a solution was required that was not only self-funding but also attractive to students of all ages in a diverse community. An incentive scheme was introduced were by students were rewarded with up to £50 of Love2shop gift vouchers for reaching the end of the course date with an acceptable attendance.

The Love2shop gift voucher provided a recognisable product that engaged students and provided them with a motivational award. The huge choice of retailers where the voucher can be spent ensured the award appealed to everyone and helped students to treat themselves.

Additional funding for the college was obtained through the ESF (European Social Fund) and to maximise their budget, the college took advantage of the generous Love2shop discount structure. The scheme has worked well: recruitment levels have increased, the attendance and attitude of students has improved resulting in better performance since the initiative was launched. The reward scheme has been in place for 3 years and it's continued success has ensured it will be in operation for the foreseeable future. It is seen not only as a method of gauging recruitment levels and to quantify funding but also as a successful marketing tool targeting specific sectors of the community to gain an education.
