Extracare Charitable Trust

Extracare Charitable Trust choose Love2shop to reward excellent attendance levels.

The Extra-Care Charitable Trust hand out Love2shop vouchers to staff with an excellent attendance throughout the year, they also offer a 'recruitment bounty' for any members of staff who introduce somebody to their organisation.

We are a registered charity that provides quality accommodation and support to older people. We have a number of Retirement Villages and Schemes that are homes to our residents (over 55?s). Our mission is to offer a range of choice, opportunity and support, designed to enable and encourage residents to live as independently as possible in high quality accommodation in the community.

Q: Which scheme or initiative do you currently operate in conjunction with Love2reward?

We give out vouchers, as a reward, to staff that have achieved exemplary attendance throughout the year. We also give out vouchers if a member of staff introduces someone to join our organisation (recruitment bounty).

Q: Firstly, could you explain what originally prompted you to implement this scheme? (E.g. this could include the need to refresh the current offering, improve morale, drive sales or service levels, etc.)

About 10 years ago, we decided not to pay for the first three days of any absence. As a positive side to this change of contract, we introduced exemplary attendance vouchers to reward the staff that did not take any absences.

Q: Which specific areas does the scheme look to target? (E.g. internal sales teams, key customers, consumers or as a company-wide reward and recognition scheme.)

Reward and recognition scheme ? for exemplary attendance at work.

Q: How is the scheme administered? (E.g. internally, externally or a combination of both.)

The scheme is administered internally, by the H.R. Team.

Q: Why did you decide to use Love2reward in particular, as your reward supplier? (E.g. competitiveness, reputation, service levels.)

The Love2reward voucher offers so much variety and obviously the discount available to us as a customer was exceptionally good.

Q: How did you decide to communicate the launch and how are you proposing to maintain ongoing interest? (e.g. e-shots, printed literature, intranet, use of L2R imagery.)

We promoted the launch of the vouchers by sending out posters and flyers to all our villages and schemes. The managers were given a brief and asked to let all the staff know about the new attendance vouchers. We have a monthly attendance lottery as well as six monthly attendance vouchers, so the interest is always ongoing.

Q: How do you measure the success of the scheme? (E.g. Staff feedback, sales results, exit interviews.)

The vouchers are received in a very positive way by all staff and we strongly believe ad hoc absences are greatly reduced by this initiative. Staff do not want to loose their vouchers.

Q: Have you any advice for other companies who are considering introducing a similar scheme? (e.g. Any potential pitfalls, shortcuts or best practise.)

I think the introduction of any reward scheme is very positive. The vouchers offer so much choice and variety ? you can manage to please everyone.

Q: One final question; if you were awarded with some of our gift vouchers ? what, where or on whom would you spend them?!

We would more than likely spend them on staff or residents.
