Private Health Care Company uses Love2shop to encourage idea and suggestion generation.

A leading private health care company had had a long tradition of providing it's employees with a number of Reward and Recognition systems.

The company realised that it had a huge untapped pool of potentialideas at its disposal - its staff. Their staff would see at first-hand how certain areas could be improved. If individuals were encouraged toshare their ideas, they could not only improve areas of the business asmentioned above but also promote a positive creative and innovativeculture within the workforce creating a better and more constructiveatmosphere.

In order to persuade staff to divulge their ideas, there needed to be some kind of incentive and a very simple mechanism with which to submit them. If there was nothing in it for them or it was a complicated manner in which ideas could be submitted, the chances of anybody participating would be minimal.

The company decided to offer a choice of Love2shop gift vouchers and single store vouchers to compliment the extensive choice already offered by Love2shop. Vouchers were already a recognised success within current Reward & Recognition programmes, providing the choice, motivation and desirability for participants.

With the help of IdeasUK, the Ideas and Suggestions Team set about designing a simple on-line form with which to submit ideas and supporting marketing materials based on a common theme to help promote the initiative. An evaluation mechanism was also implemented so that the success of an idea could be assessed in terms of effectiveness and cost savings.

For every idea submitted, the individual would receive a recognition letter via email. The idea would then be reviewed to ascertain if it would be suitable or feasible to implement. If implemented, the individual would then be informed of the amount of their payment so that they could then choose their voucher award. Using the evaluation mechanism that was developed with the help of IdeasUK, the individual could be further awarded depending upon the effectiveness and/or cost saving of the idea or suggestion.

The client would then supply Love2reward with details of which vouchers were required and who they should go to on a monthly basis. Vouchers were sent directly to recipients using client branded gift wallets.

The scheme has been a huge success and continues to be so with literally 1,000s of ideas submitted each year not only saving the business tens of thousands of pounds but also creating an innovative and creative workplace. During 2007, the client will also introduce an annual awards ceremony for all individual's whose ideas have been implemented.
