Bank rewards savers with gift vouchers
Monday, 18 August 2008
Eligible customers of a Sri Lankan bank who save a certain amount in their accounts can participate in a prize draw for gift vouchers, with 100 winners expected over a single weekend, it has been reported.

Through the incentive programme, members who maintain a minimum balance of 10,000 Sri Lankan rupees (Rs.) (£46.95) in a regular savings, Singithi or current account with the Hatton National Bank (HNB) will be entered into the Super Weekend Pathum Vimana draw.
Pathum Vimana is known as the country's largest and most popular deposit draw, which also gives its customers the chance to win a luxury apartment in its year-end premium draw (open to people with a minimum balance of Rs.100,000) and a Mitsubishi Montero Jeep in its year-end grand draw.
Gift voucher winners will be able to spend them at selected supermarkets.
The Money section of The Bottom Line says the Pathum Vimana scheme is the HNB's flagship product, which was set up in 1993 and through its prizes has contributed to encouraging customers who would not otherwise save money to consciously start putting funds aside for the future.
