employee motivation by ensuring their workers' efforts are aligned with changes to overall corporate strategy, it has been claimed.The Corporate Executive Board (CEB) told Bloomberg Business Week that many firms are attempting to gain a competitive advantage by revamping their products, brands and organisations, but stressed the need for their employees to understand these changes.

"Aligning employees to the corporate strategy - helping them understand their new call to action - is a critical driver of success in today's market," the organisation commented.

It also told the news provider that line managers are the most effective channel of communicating corporate changes to workers, beating alternatives such as direct messages from head office.

Furthermore, the CEB recommended that firms ask their human resources departments to measure how well their workforce is adapting to organisational changes, so they can remedy problems which would be otherwise unnoticed.

Kristin Baird, president of Baird Consulting in Wisconsin, recently told amednews.com that effective communication and employee recognition are essential for high levels of staff motivation.
