Gift vouchers offered in murder mystery
Thursday, 5 March 2009
Gift vouchers have been offered in a murder mystery competition for children.
Pupils at St Katherine's School in Pill, Somerset, can win two £10 book tokens if they successfully identify the killer in the mystery.
The students were called to the school's library earlier this week and discovered a 'dead body', as part of an initiative for World Book Day.
Beat manager PC Trevor Byford, PC Jock Cameron and Avon and Somerset's crime scene investigation team were on hand to show the pupils investigation techniques and help them look for clues.
PC Cameron commented: "The children have had great fun so far this week and are learning a lot at the same time.
"And you never know, we may have inspired budding police officers of the future."
Students who solved the murder mystery will be entered into a prize draw, with one lucky sleuth winning the two gift tokens.
Yesterday (March 3rd), it was reported that West Mercia Police have offered a gift voucher as part of a new initiatives to teach young people about law enforcement issues.
