employee motivation schemes.Recent research published by recruitment consultancy Badenoch & Clark found that almost one-third of staff aged between 16 and 24 do not trust their company.

Commenting on the survey, Badenoch & Clark associate director Guy Emmerson claimed that the results suggest businesses have not been paying enough attention to employee engagement.

Offering ways to improve this, the expert continued: "It's all about management, so the number one thing is that they are well-managed. The communication needs to be really strong between the manager and the employees."

In addition, Mr Emmerson said that younger professionals should receive regular appraisals from their manager, to ensure they know how well they are doing and how they can further improve their performance.

He also claimed that gaining 360-degree feedback from other members of the organisation can be a good way to improve performance management for younger workers.
