Pressure to engage workers is now higher

Thursday, 16 February 2012

The pressure for business leaders to provide employee engagement to their workers is now higher than ever, a specialist believes.

pressure to engage workers is now higher

Many of them are being placed under pressure to perform, meaning that they are not taking the opportunity to motivate their personnel and allow them to be more involved, an expert from PaulBridle.com has stated.

Paul Bridle, leadership expert at PaulBridle.com, said: "The pressure to engage with people and to get people involved is higher now since the recession started than it was previously."

Mr Bridle noted that bosses with poor leadership skills can cause staff to operate ineffectively, which can potentially lead to a "downward spiral".

His comments come after a study from Mercer indicated that businesses will look to provide cost-cutting measures and boost employee engagement in 2012.

The company found that 45 per cent of employers perceive managing the cost of employee benefit schemes to be the year's biggest test.ADNFCR-1706-ID-801291847-ADNFCR
