Republic has recorded a 40 per cent take-up in its employee discounts scheme across the last six months.

Its Backstage Pass project is connected to its staff recognition programme Recognition Rocks, with perks including thank you cards, guru badges and SuperStar scratch cards, reports EmployeeBenefits.
Speaking to the news provider, Sarah Chitty, senior HR business partner at Republic, said: "Our external brand thrives internally in everything we do so it was imperative our new benefits package reflected that."
Workers who were given a scratch card were able to pick up their prizes through the discounts scheme, with the retailer laying claim to a base of 2,500 employees over 121 stores.
Such staff recognition can offer numerous advantages to firms, ranging from increased morale among workers and better motivation.
It could also help to boost loyalty, potentially causing staff to decline other job offers and stay with a certain company.
