Selston NHS worker collects award
Tuesday, 10 July 2012
A hospital porter from Selston has reigned victorious in two out of eight categories at a ceremony that provided

staff recognition for NHS workers.
George Dennis won the Behind the Scenes Award, indicating the high quality services that he offered to patients and colleagues, reports the Eastwood Advertiser.
Mr Dennis also picked up the Healthcare Hero Award, which honours staff who please patients by contributing more than what is expected from them.
A representative from the hospital told the news provider: "He will take time to sit with a patient who is on their own for an appointment, spending a bit of quality time with them and this can make such a difference to their experience."
It may be advisable for companies to launch their own honours to mark the achievements of workers.
An awards ceremony can prove effective when it comes to improving morale and can increase the likelihood of retaining staff.
