South Tyneside mental health unit collects award

A mental health unit in South Tyneside has been honoured with a national award.
A Starward has been handed over to wards one, two and three at the Bede Wing, which is part of Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust, reports the Shields Gazette.
It was awarded the Full Monty trophy, which is staff recognition that is delivered to organisations that have met all 75 of the guidelines in the Starwards campaign.The project operates with mental health trusts to boost the quality of life for patients.
Marion Janner, the creator of the awards, told the news provider: "It is a huge achievement to get our Full Monty Award, as it requires the full range of staff being energetically committed to consistently high quality inpatient services."
The award comes after a report in the Eastwood Advertiser, which revealed that a Selston hospital porter has collected awards in two out of eight categories at an awards show for NHS staff.
