The University of Buffalo in New York has implemented an

employee recognition programme to increase productivity and workplace camaraderie.According to the University of Buffalo Reporter, the educational facility's Great Place to Work scheme will show managers how to develop ways to let workers know that their efforts are valued.
John Simpson, the university's president, said that the initiative is a core part of plans to make the institution a good place to work and learn.
Jennifer Bowen, assistant vice president for human resources, also told the publication: "As we have progressed with our Great Place to Work effort, we have known that employee recognition is critical to building the kind of positive and productive work culture."
She revealed that a survey of staff was carried out before the scheme was implemented and it found that University of Buffalo workers place a high value on employee recognition.
Recently, EmployeeBenefits.co.uk reported that Conwy Borough Council has overhauled its employee recognition package and changed the rules applied to its long service awards.
